Dr. Caleb Mulongo
Mike is a doctor and Mandela Washington Fellow (Business and Entrepreneurship) with over five years’ experience in healthcare delivery, entrepreneurship and management. He is passionate about sustainable health financing, health systems strengthening, entrepreneurship in healthcare and the utility of affordable innovations in healthcare delivery. Mike has been a technical lead in health management, health finance and strategy consultancies for the Government of Kenya, global advocacy, global health and medical products agencies within East Africa including AMREF Health Africa, Transparency International, BioMérieux (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda & Rwanda) and Liverpool School Sports Partnership in Europe. Noteworthy, he has developed the curriculum content for an executive health financing course to be mounted at the Amref International University. He periodically publishes opinion pieces on health financing and health systems resilience in The Standard Newspaper in Kenya. As the senior medical officer of a public university, Mike led the economic evaluation of staff medical schemes to maximize staff welfare for the available resources and led the university medical facility towards profitability from being purely a cost centre.
