Mr. Luc Bodea
Director of ICASA and the Coordinator of the Society for AIDS in Africa (SAA)
Luc Armand Bodea is the Director of the International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa (ICASA) and the Coordinator of the Society for AIDS in Africa (SAA) that acts as the custodian of ICASA. Since becoming the Coordinator of the SAA in 2006, he has revamped its governance system to increase accountability and good governance and to improve its leading role as the unique platform in Africa for advocacy and knowledge sharing on AIDS, tuberculosis, and new emerging viral infections. With a background in business management, Luc Bodea has over 20 years of extensive experience in high-level managerial positions working with both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations in Benin Republic, Nigeria, and Ghana. Among the significant milestone achievements that have been recorded under his stewardship is the establishment in 2009 of the Permanent Secretariat of the Society for AIDS in Africa in Ghana. He has since been in charge of organizing the prestigious biannual ICASA meeting and steering the affairs of the society that manages ICASA which is attended by 7000 to 11,000 delegates from 132 countries. He is the current Secretary-General of the African Society of Association Executives (AfSAE) and is certified in professional strategic health planning (ICPS, London).
